I brought a new life to this world...

A year had passed and quite a number of things had happened... My grandma passed away, I got pregnant and gave birth to a lovely son in August, I had a promotion in my career and struggling to do my best in my work etc... Looking back at the "100 things in my list", I am sad to say that I've only manage to knock down two... Sigh... I better buckle up or else I won't be able to complete my list...

Let's talk about my pregnancy and baby... I got to know that I was pregnant beginning of February and I couldn't believe it when the pregnancy test was positive in the clinic which I originally thought that I was having the normal flu... :-p So far my pregnancy has been quite smooth: no morning sickness, baby has been growing healthily inside me... I had to give up lots of my favourite food, i.e., fast food, fried food, asam laksa, cold drinks, nescafe, chocolates, for the sake of baby's health. It might have seen to be difficult, but seeing a cute and healthy baby in the end, everything was worth it... :-)

On the morning of 16th Aug, around 8am, I woke up and went to toilet to freshen up before going out to buy breakfast with my husband... Once back from the toilet, I started to have pain at my stomach... At first, I thought that it was just normal food poisoning but the pain continued on and I started to suspect that it might be the contraction pain, but I didn't thought that it was actually that as my baby was still due in another month's time! I told my husband that I am having stomach pain and couldn't go out with him to buy breakfast and will stay home and wait for him. During that time, I was in great pain and felt wanting to go to toilet for big business. Now that I think back, luckily that I didn't push when I was in the toilet or else my baby might end up in the toilet bowl.. :-S Any how, seeing me in great pain, my husband brought me to a nearby clinic to check as there wasn't any doctor in TMC on Sundays... All the way to the clinic, I was screaming and hitting the car sit of my husband side as I couldn't tolerate the pain. The doctor at the clinic said that the baby's head was already visible and asked to rush me to the hospital for labour... I was in disbelief but couldn't think much due to the pain... We reached TMC around 11am sth plus and safely delivered baby Nathaniel at 11.52am.

At the moment, I am still in my maternity leave.. Still another 3 more weeks to go before going back to work... Everyday, I am busy with feeding (working hard to breastfeed exclusively and to store up enough milk for baby when I am back to work), bathing and changing nappy for baby... Starting to get the hang of taking care of my baby as I am taking care of him single handedly.. It's tiring but seeing my baby smile occasionally, all the tiredness was worth it.. :-)

Tech·Ed has always been one of the largest and well known conference in the IT industry. No one in the IT field will not know about this event. Some even attend it every year. Well, I could have been one of them if I attended the full event this year, but unfortunately due to ticket constraint, I am only able to attend the event on the first day, which is today. This year's Tech·Ed SEA 2008 was held very early, which is in August, compared the last two years where it was held in mid September. My guess will be that September is the Puasa month, and the audience will be less if they held it then. Compared to the last two years, this year's event wasn't any surprise. However, this is the only year I felt like I've gained a lot in the first day itself: attended all talks in the afternoon session, got a lot of freebiesfrom the exhibition hall, joined quite a number of games etc... Maybe it was because we had only one day and had to gained the most of it... :-p And I enjoyed...

My first blog and post

Finally, my first post in my own blog... I've been wanting to have my own blog, but was either too busy or too lazy to sign up. There's so many option out there: Blogspot, Windows Live Spaces, Friendster etc, but the reason why I choose Blogspot? Hmm.. Good question.. Maybe I just felt Blogspot has the things which I need and is already widely used by my friends, so I gave it a shot... Anyway, having my own blog is one of the 100 things I would like to do before I die. I am glad that it's still not too late, just hope that I have the determination to continue it. 七夕

Today is 7th August, seventh day of the seventh lunar month on the Chinese calender, which is also the 七夕day. This is also sometimes called Chinese Valentine's Day. It is famously known for the story of Cowherd and Weaver Girl (牛郎织女). If want, you can read the story of this here . Today is also the last day before the opening ceremony of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. One world one dream. I am looking forward to see the opening ceremony and hope that me and my hubby can be home in time to watch it tomorrow... I've heard the radio saying this China had put a lot of effort in this opening ceremony and I believe that it's going to be a very memorable and touching, so prepare your tissues...
